HANDCRAFT COMPETITIONS 2009

Robert Young Rosebowl / May Martin Trophy                              One entry per Federation

1. Six (6) handcrafted buttons each using a different technique; to be presented on a card.
2. A two piece set of lingerie. Size optional. The set can be machine and /or hand sewn. Lace and other embellishments allowed.
3. Make a belt combining various techniques of your choice. Include a note about how you created your belt.

Robert Young Cup                                                                         One entry per Institute

Create a book of calico with at least four (4) double sided pages which includes a back and front cover, to tell a story of your Institute and District. Each book to be A4 size and must include at least four different handcrafting techniques including at least one type of embroidery.

Summer Show Cup                                                       Individual - one entry per member

Create a  sampler using embroidery stitches in a contemporary way. Size no bigger than 60 cm x 45 cm. (Unlined) To be presented on a rod of your choice.

Silver Tray                                                                     Individual - one entry per member

An oil or acrylic painting. Display materials to be included if not framed. No glass. Size no bigger than 30 cm x 25 cm including frame.                                              

Lones                                                                              Individual - one entry per Lone member

Create a handkerchief for that special occasion. Must be totally handcrafted (no machine stitching).

Edna Way Cup                              Individual -one entry per member, must be 80 years or over

Decorate a guest towel and face cloth. These may be purchased.

Rissington Diamond Jubilee Trophy - Photography           Individual- one entry per member

'Women Having Fun'

Photo must be taken during or after July 2008. It is open to all photographic medium - digital or film - but must be presented in print form 6" x 4" and mounted on card. The mount will not be judged.

Woolcraft Trophy                                                                 Individual - one entry per member

Knit a colourful vest, hat and mittens for a pre-school child in 100% wool - any ply. Embellishents allowed.

Ashford Trophy                                                                   Individual -one entry per member

Create an evening accessory using natural fibres (either fleece or sliver). Any technique. Embellishments allowed.
